The RoHS directive aims at the recycling of electrical equipment specified in European directive DEEE (Wastes of electrical and electronic equipment) and commercialized on all European territories. 
RoHS means Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment, i.e. "restriction of the use of certain dangerous substances in electrical and electronic equipment". The substances concerned are: lead, quicksilver, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybromobiphenyls (PBB), polybromodiphenylethers (PBDE).
Gindre applies the RoHS directive because copper and brass components produced by the firm enter in the manufacturing of some of the electrical equipment concerned.
